• Obtain past and present medical history of prospective seafarers / emigrants

• Complete physical examination

• Ophthalmic examination using Snellen's Chart

• Color vision test using Ishihara's book

Pathology investigations

• CBC, ESR, Smear for malaria parasite

• Random/fasting blood sugar

• Urine Routine Examination

• Blood group studies

• Screening of seafarers for various drugs/substances such as Amphetamine, Cocaine, Barbiturates, Cannbinodies, Opiates and Alcohol
